How does Roku work with Xfinity?


Roku is one of the most popular streaming devices that you can use to install apps and channels from the Roku Channel Store. With Xfinity Stream on Roku, you have access to more than 200 live TV channels and on-demand films and series.

Please note that you cannot use the Xfinity Stream Beta app on Roku until you have installed your Xfinity Internet outage and Xfinity TV services.

Once your Xfinity Internet and TV services are activated, you can download the app on these Roku models:

·         Roku TV: A000X, C000X, 5000X, 6000X, 7000X, 8000X

·         Roku Streaming Media Player:
o   Roku Ultra (4340X, 4660X)
o   Roku Express (3700X, 3900X) and Express + (3710X, 3910X)
o   Roku Premiere (3920X, 4620X) and Premiere + (3921X, 4630X)
o   Roku 2 (4210X only), Roku 3 and 4 (4200X, 4210X, 4230X, 4400X)
·         Roku Streaming Stick and Streaming Stick +: 3600X, 3800X, 3810X
·         Roku Sound Bar: 9100X

The devices must have at least firmware version 8.1 b1 or higher. The Xfinity Stream Beta the channel is only displayed for authorized devices in the Roku channel memory. Note that you may have to accept the activation conditions again if you're an account is updated or your Xfinity TV package is changed.

Activate the Xfinity Stream Beta app on Roku
1.      Open the app via the Xfinity Channel in the Roku Channel Store and select Sign in.
2.      The Activation Code screen appears on your Roku or a device connected to Roku. Go to xfinity.com/authorize  from another device (e.g. a cell phone, tablet, or desktop - not your Roku).
3.      Enter the six-digit code provided by the Roku device into the web browser.
4.      Enter your Xfinity ID and password and then select Sign in.
5.      You will see success! message. The screen of your device connected to Roku or Roku will be updated shortly.

7.      Name your device and select Confirm.
8.      You will see the main menu and you can now use the app!

Xfinity Stream on Roku: Not Working
Since you are installing the beta version of the app on your Roku device, some errors and problems may occur when using the app. Problems like can't authorize the app, can't sign in, can't stream movies or TV shows, and many can come. If you encounter any of these problems, try the following hacks.
1.      Delete the channel and reinstall the channel.
2.      Log out of your Xfinity Stream or Roku account and log in again.
3.      Check your WiFi connection and make sure it is Xfinity wifi not working properly.
4.      Make sure the app is updated.
5.      Restart your Roku device.
